About Aashir shaikh

Aashir Shaikh carries many titles in his name plate for his duties at Philip Hersee Photography. Among some of his duties include being the Photo editor/manipulator, graphic artist, Computer Technician, a care taker for the website and an assistant photographer.

Aashir's passion for art started when he was a child, but the real journey took place in high school, where he became a part of the yearbook team in the Photo journalism course and worked his way up from being a staff member to Editor. In his year of being Editor the book gained special recognition for winning 1st place in Canada. After graduating he attended The Art institute of Vancouver, where he polished his photo/design skills and learned 3D modeling. During this time he also worked at several photography stores as a photo editor/ Computer Technician.

After Aashir graduated from AI, Phil Hersee contacted his school looking for a skilled individual to assist him on shoots and to help him with his computer needs. In response he was given Aashir's contact information. This is when the dynamic duo started working together. Already Aashir has worked with Phil on three movies and a TV series, both as an assistant photographer and a graphic artist for the art department. He has also worked on several commercial and corporate jobs.

With over 7 years of experience he has acquired extensive knowledge of using Photoshop for the purpose of photo editing/manipulation and graphic design. Other software that Aashir is familiar with includes programs like, lightroom, Illustrator and Indesign. He also has advanced modeling knowledge using the 3D software Softimage XSI. Even now he still keeps adding to his list of skills with his quick mindset and willingness to learn.

At present Aashir continues his journey with Phil and volunteers his design services to schools. He is a firm believer that if you put your mind to it nothing is impossible.
